An Appeal from Mark Harris

The following is a direct appeal from Mark Harris in which he makes his case (a good case in my opinion) for your support in his candidacy for the Ozaukee County Supervisor’s office:

I’m running for County Supervisor because I truly love the place we call home. Ozaukee County has been a constant in my life for 45 years - a community that has shaped who I am, supported my family, and given me every reason to stay rooted here. My appreciation run deep, and it’s that genuine connection - not politics - that inspires me to step forward.

I want to be clear: I’m not a politician. I’m a neighbor, a parent, a small business professional, and someone who believes in pitching in when there’s work to be done. I’ve seen the strengths of our communities, our welcoming neighborhoods and the small businesses that give our town’s character. I’ve also seen places where we can improve, whether it’s maintaining infrastructure, strengthening public services, or ensuring families and seniors feel supported.

My objective is simple: to represent our county with honesty, practicality, and an open ear. Local government should be easy to understand, responsive to concerns, and focused on real solutions that make everyday life better. I’m committed to listening first, collaborating often, and keeping residents’ needs - not politics - at the center of decision-making.

Having graduated from Grafton High School many years ago, I’ve watched our surrounding communities grow and change—some changes for the better, others more challenging. Change is inevitable, but clear communication and transparency are essential. Everyone has the right to understand what may affect their home and livelihood, and once informed, families can decide how they want to respond. I believe this approach fosters genuine engagement and trust within our communities.

I’m excited for the opportunity to serve—and to continue giving back to the communities that make Ozaukee County such a wonderful place to live.
