Grafton Raid Nabs Suspected Colombian Burglary Crew
TOWN OF GRAFTON — Four men linked to a multi-state burglary ring — including three Colombian nationals — were arrested Wednesday morning after Ozaukee County deputies executed a coordinated raid at a short-term rental on Lakeshore Road.
The suspects, tied to an overnight burglary in Beaver Dam, surrendered after a brief standoff. Inside the home, authorities recovered over $570,000 in cash, stolen jewelry, a damaged safe, and a list of more than 30 Wisconsin addresses believed to be targets of planned break-ins.
All four men are being held on $1 million cash bond and face felony charges for concealing stolen property over $10,000.
A Growing Pattern of Sophisticated Break-Ins
If this incident and the recent Mequon crime spree prove anything it is that Ozaukee County is no longer insulated from serious criminal activity. What residents once assumed was “big-city Milwaukee and Chicago crime” is now appearing in our quiet neighborhoods — from Mequon to Grafton to Cedarburg.. Ozaukee is no longer a place where safety can be taken for granted.
Call for Local Leaders to Act
This incident underscores a reality that Ozaukee County residents increasingly recognize: organized crime is not bypassing our suburbs anymore and it is time to fight back.
One local Grafton candidate for Trustee, Mr. Luke Spykstra, made a comment on X saying,
"To all cartel, gangs and career criminals thinking about inflicting violence against the good people of Grafton, think again..When I’m a trustee, I will do everything in my power to ensure these thugs feel the FULL weight of law enforcement. The gloves are off. Beware."
