Spring Elections Around the Corner
Elections seem to be happening all the time in Wisconsin. There are pros and cons! On the one hand, we get to make our voices heard on a more regular basis. This provides us with the ability to hold our elected officials accountable more quickly than in many other states. On the other hand, this means yet another exhausting, grueling campaign season.
The big race this spring and statewide is for Supreme Court, where there is an open seat due to the retirement of conservative incumbent Rebecca Bradley. The declared candidates so far are Maria Lazar, a judge on the state Court of Appeals in District 2 in Waukesha - she is aligned with conservatives and the Republican Party. Her opponent is likely to be District 4 Judge Chris Taylor, a Madison judge aligning herself with the democrat party and the far left.

During spring elections, we also elect municipal and county leaders. There will be many local races in Ozaukee that we will be highlighting in the weeks to come, but we wanted to get the word out ahead of time on the scheduled dates for the primaries and general elections! So mark your calendars and start to make a plan for how you will vote! Every vote counts in these low-turnout election cycles. We have seen races for local offices in recent times come down to 10 to 15 votes out of thousands cast!
